l o l

Try a proper coastal cheese if you can even handle the unfamiliar smells, flavors, and textures of real cheese

Please note, bubbles, mold, crystals, and strong flavors and smells are not a bug, but, in fact, a feature

>>8672963
>thing is that americans are known for their unhealthy food so many people instantly assume that american products are shitty

The reason we're known for our unhealthy food is that hicks like the op think plastic garbage cheese is the best thing ever and if you don't agree you hate america* and have literally never even set foot here

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Southern California makes any cheese, or at least none worth mentioning

Northern California is another story, it's on par with the Northeast
>>
>>8673051

I agree with this, but the good unprocessed stuff is so much more inaccessible than the shit you eat every day. I almost die the last time I visited America.

Also, what's with the whole food waste culture there. You guys throw so much food. I guess that's what the dream is about.

>inaccessible

We have so much surplus of whole food (s) that we export it across the planet, most notably and currently to Britain, as weather conditions resulted in significantly smaller yields of produce this growing season, so there are rations nation wide. California alone can provide Britain with veg without putting a dent in their overall production numbers. Not significantly anyway.
>>
>>8673072
It's not inaccesible if you know where to look, you can't just go to america and go to a mcdonalds and then say america has bad food, thats just lazy you're not doing any research.

As far as food waste, yea thats a concern but what are you gonna do
>>
>>8673072
>Also, what's with the whole food waste culture there

During the cold war we organized our agro system to create a massive surplus for foreign policy reasons. As a result market incentives for food production are all kinds of fucked up. Garbage food is available by the ton, but good food is a privilege reserved for the coastal elites. Over the decades, the people in the middle of the country have been brainwashed by ADM and Cargill into believing that horking down buckets of cold war junk food is the most patriotic thing humanly possible and quality food is for OBSESSED europoors

Unfortunately every time we try to teach them about nice things they start shrieking about cucks and white guilt and it's impossible to even have a conversation. If I ate a vegetable today it makes me an out of touch liberal elitist because that's for the PETA vegans, give it to me still mooing lol for every animal u don't eat I'll eat three

The FDA mandates meat/produce/food stuffs be disposed of after a relatively short period of time. There are plenty of "Freegans" across America to ensure usable "expired" food is fished out of dumpsters and eaten. Shit, just in my little town local grocers put everything neatly packed in clean boxes, and place them into dumpsters for people to remove later.

the coast is full of some of the rudest and most disgusting people i've ever seen, they're so smug self important trust fund yuppies who never had to work in their life, either that or their mexicans consuming truck loads of the processed garbage you associate with the "flyover states"

I took an inventory of the cheese selection at a local cheesemonger once. The number of wisconsin cheeses in the good section were basically insignificant. All the good cheeses come from the coastal US or are imported from Europe
>>
>>8673105
where was this local cheesemonger?
>>
>>8673099
>they're so smug self important trust fund yuppies who never had to work in their life

No trust fund needed. The secret to having a job that pays good money is hard work and education. Instead of, say, sitting around all day taking oxycontin and whining about the mexicans taking our jerrrrb mopping the floors at the local wal mart.

And the taxes I pay with my nice job basically subsidize your state. You're welcome.
>>
>>8673114
The northeast. But you would see a similar pattern in any decent cheesemonger in any city. Note, by cheesemonger I am not talking about the combination porn/fireworks/sketchy '''cheese''' shops you see along the interstate between Chicago and Minneapolis, I mean an actual cheesemonger selling good cheese
>>
>>8673116
Obviously all of that hard work and 'education' has turned you into an ignorant pompous taint. I'm talking about physical labor not taking adderall and working on your pointless iphone app in silicon valley

I lived for a few years in the midwest, the domestic selection is a bit more of an even split between california and the northeast, and of course europe is still strongly represented

Also lived in california, where, surprisingly, the selection is not unlike that of the midwest

The only local cheese that exists in the midwest that isn't complete crap is the "cheese curds" which are something that resemble mozzarella

Other than that it's mostly chemically modified sludge in a tub, or the worst which is when they label it "gouda" or something otherwise innocuous looking but it's really pasteurized process cheese food with liquid smoke added
>>

There is top tier food made in America. The problem is the average American does not have access to it. Generally the best food require better ingredients and more human input than mass produced industrial food, so it costs a lot more. The common man in America isn't eating much if any of it.
>>8673035
>The reason we're known for our unhealthy food is that hicks like the op
It isn't just hicks. Walk into a regular supermarket even in a major metropolitan area and most of what they're selling is shit. If you want good stuff you pretty much have to go to a specialty store because overall American standards are pretty low. Those low standards keep our food cheap, though. And that's part of where we get the reputation for unhealthy food - standard issue meat and dairy products are so cheap we can just pile them on with abandon. That tendency to use low to mediocre quality ingredients and just supersize everything is common here. And we do have a reputation for doing it.

I've got family in NOLA, so I get there often. But even there, where they have a more legit food culture than most of the country you still see the gap between food for the rich and the common man. If the rich guy is making red beans on Monday he'll use some artisan andouille in it. In the 9th they'll use Double D. That is different worlds (though both are tasty).
>>
>>8673035
I'd eat the shit out of that. Love less-soft goats cheeses beyond the usual generic goat stuff.

If you're European and into wine, chances are you'll drink a fair amount of Californian wine. We're not snobbish about it like we are with your cheese, because it's actually very very good.

'Le french wine is always best' is just a stupid pleb meme. The best Californian vineyards are planted from French vine clippings anyway, and they've historically suffered less from certain plagues
>>
>>8677102
lol at the idea of a wine drinker who isn't snobbish. Thats literally the only reason anyone ever drinks wine

Drinking wine is really a pretty flyover thing in America these days, favorite pastime of middle aged and elderly midwestern women
>>
>>8677162
well at least they're catching up
>>
>>8677123
Connoisseurship means developing discriminating taste. That looks like snobbery to someone who doesn't understand it. Think of it like this: wine is not an egalitarian thing, and kind of an expensive hobby. The there are a lot of wines out there. Most of them are OK, some are excellent and many are awful. Some of the excellent ones do have cachet because they're sought after and expensive. The awful ones have a stigma as only being fit for drunks. But the vast majority of wines are for enjoyment at the table, and the people drinking them are not trying to impress anyone by doing so.
>>
>>8677207
A man will never choose wine over beer unless he is trying to impress a lady
>>
>>8677221
I do it about three times a week but there are also times I'll choose fish over steak so that probably makes me not a Real Man in your eyes

Lol, even fucking builders and taxi drivers drink wine in Europe. It's not the same try-hard metropolitan thing it is in America. And we aren't so insecure as to think that someone is a limp-wristed faggot for drinking anything other than straight whisky

i assume you mean cheese monger as in someone that works as a "cheese distributor"

(inb4 semantics and monger means distributor)

Muscle jobs go where muscle labor is cheaper. Period.

Forcing american companies to pay more for labor in this country is inefficient and leads to higher prices for other americans. Basic manufacturing is dead in murica and clinging to it is blue collar dumbassery

So while it is true that forcing companies to pay americans to do jobs that Bangladeshis can do for 15X less money will keep jobs in america, they will lead to an economic inefficiency i.e. higher prices, which affects EVERYBODY ELSE. Those niggas need to get jobs in things America is good at, not the things that Bangladesh is good at, like IT

Depends on the man. Most guys I know in the wine business rarely drink beer. Most guys I know from France, Spain and Italy are happy to drink a beer but usually switch over to wine with their meals. I think it has to do with whether you grew up in a tradition where wine is served at the table. If you did you will probably choose wine over beer with most meals. If I'm just having a drink it's usually beer, but when I sit down to eat I always go for wine unless I'm having something that specifically goes better with beer. I'm not trying to impress anyone. I just like wine with my meals.

Wisconsin has plenty of small farms that sell their own cheese, from curds to 18 year old cheddar. They also sometimes sell their cheese to local stores, but there's a markup. They tend to keep it all local and produce small amounts. In my experience, as someone from Chicago who visits Wisconsin regularly for /out/ activities, they like to keep their food stuffs local. Like New Glarus brewery.

Get friendly with some people in a local bar and you'll get to learn where the good cheese is. Then you drive out to their farm and pick it up yourself.

Compartmentalize all your negative feelings for now. Use her for the sex. When things start to go downhill, the pressure will start building. Save it until you can't hold back, then one day when you realize you've finally grown bored of her body, do your Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde thing that you always do, make some vague excuse to throw her out of your bed, watch as she leaves, confused, and then after taking a lot of stimulants, send her an uncharacteristically (in her eyes, although you know it's been the real you all along) hostile email containing all the little observances you noticed and collected over time, all packaged together for her convenience so she understands why you look down on her and only put up with her because of her vagina. You'll feel much better, much more like yourself, and she'll (presumably, although it really doesn't matter) be emotionally devastated. The next time you meet it will be like you're strangers. Not even a glint in her eye revealing what she thought, and that's fine. The important thing is Wisconsin is trash and her WIDF garbage cheese will never defile your living quarters again.
>>
>>8689052
Maybe suggest next time when she makes cheese you help her, and make better one?

Do you know what I do in my spare time, anon? I shitpost. That's what I do. I don't have any friends I can go out and talk to. I don't have a job or a hobby. I come here.
I come here, and I post about my lobotomy fetish. There is nothing I fantasize about more then taking an icepick to a qt girl's frontal lobe and giving her the IQ of a large reptile. I fantasize about taking care of her after the operation; cleaning up her drool, dressing her, bathing her, tucking her into bed, and making her happy in more ways then one. These are some of few thoughts that can bring me to climax when I masturbate, which is so often my genitals have begun to rip and bleed.
Sometimes I write greentexts stories about doing it to anime girls and I post it. Sometimes other anons join in, sometimes they don't. This is what I do with my life. I've never contributed anything of real value in my life, not to anyone. I wale up, I laze around and be a useless pervert, and then I go back to sleep.

However, even a bottom of the barrel example of human life like myself can take solace in the fact that no matter what I end up doing or how vile what I've done is, I will never be even a tenth of how awful and rancid you are.
