When I'm feeling down, "treating" the problem with food just makes it worse. I find the best solution is riding my bike for an hour or two, or a stimulant-fueled weight lifting session

If I am having a bad day I just cycle hard and end up in the woods.
Admittedly, I find myself having to force food if depressed. However, a couple years ago I would eat an energy bar any time I felt like shit.

I used to live in a big city alone and every sunday morning i had a tradition to eat an entire bag of salt and vinegar chips, 2 donuts and 2 liters of chocolate milk. Rough times. Kinda surprised im not fat or dead.

Well carbs are the feel good food.

If I'm in a mood or stressed, my crave treats are usually comfort party foods, or ethnic foods I haven't had in ages. You decide which you can more easily obtain or feel like making.

I like to make a big batch of cuban picadillo with extra olives, white pearl rice with black beans (moros), plantains, fresh garlic bread. I whirl up a daiquiri (banana, lime, grapefruit, mango, something tropic) beforehand while I'm cooking. Sometimes I make a liver terrine, or a hot spinach dip to enjoy with garlic toasts. Sometimes I make a big casserole, mac n cheese, chicken enchiladas, lasagna, and pack the rest into the freezer for a rainy day.
