My parents like going to this whenever I go out to visit them, the one they go to is the only one within a 50 miles radius in the rural south so it's constantly busy which means the food turnaround is pretty good.

I usually get a baked potato and load it up with veggies, meat, and cheese. I head over to where they're grilling steaks and get a sirloin med rare. Some grilled mushrooms. A salad. Sometimes their fish entrees look inviting and I'll try one. Or their fried stuff like pork cracklings with sauce.

Honestly I thought the same about GC being unredeemable until I went to one with decent food rotation and staff that cares.

Fat people slap-fights

I've been to Golden Corrals in OH, TN, GA... and they've all been abominations. However the one in Punta Gorda, FL actually turned out bretty gud. Was pleasantly surprised.

Bourbon chicken is legitimately good

Lay down bed of spinach and peas
Generously top with bourbon chicken
Add crumbled blue cheese and a little ranch dressing

Shit's delicious

They also have pretty decent cheesecake
