Chicken can carry salmonella. So can sallad.
In non-third world countries salmonella in chicken is tested for at breeders and virtually nonexistent in products that reach consumers. There is no rational reason to fear chicken meat unless you're in one of the fifty united third world states of America.
Greens fertilised with natural fertiliser is a much greater hazard - if not washed. Wash your veggies.
