You know, you can just call it Iberian ham. It's not really a proper noun, it's just the type of meat and its origin.

It's a DOC product so it is in a way like a proper noun, in a similar sense that a brand would be treated like a proper noun. Like you don't call Vega Sicilia Unico "Unique Sicilian Orchard" in English just because it triggers you to say Spanish things. That's kinda weird don't you think? Why are you so hellbent on getting people not to use the correct term?

I'm a native Spanish speaker and hearing a native English speaker say things like "jamon iberico" is hilarious and a little embarrassing.
Also Vega Sicilia is an actual name brand, while there's several different brands and types of iberian ham.
