induction is great but i would hate if i only had induction to work with because i have glass and aluminum pots i like to use and gas is great when it's of good quality but i've used very few good quality gas stoves outside of commercial kitchens

No, they are the same price. Induction will at some point be the cheapest, because they are coils/tops without extra material to heat.

And thats before you get to actual repairs: Fixing any stove involves soldering. Thats a trade skill
