Doesn't matter.
Just soak one way or the other.
The point is to soak water into the middle of the bean so that when it hits boiling temps it cooks the inside of the bean in a moist environment. Just achieve that and don't worry about it.

I never soak black beans. Just wash em and cook them in whatever you're gonna cook them in for 3-4 hours. The colour and thickness of the pot liquor are much more pleasing than if you soak overnight.

I pressure cook often, and would still recommend a soaking method before pressure cooking.
If you have the time, the overnight method is easy and flawless.
