I'm at uni and I've decided my current menu (mostly italian) is getting a bit boring.
I know you might tell me I should mix it up, but lack of cupboard space means I just stocked pasta and risotto rice and used lots of parmesan.
My friend has a rice cooker.
I'm looking for a 4 meal plan that doesn't require tons of ingredients and is fried-rice and noodle based, with different things every day e.g. egg or bok choi :)

Would appreciate the help from someone who knows their Asian food and the cheapest ingredients.

This and a good soy sauce. I always get lee kum kee. A girl from China told me to get it, she said it's what her family uses in China because it's one of the best. I have never looked back. Make sure to get the chili garlic paste and not that faggot chili paste with the gold label.

In what dark alleys can I find this magical chinkpaste?

They usually have it at most large grocery stores. Just check with the Asian sauce. Go to a Chinese grocery store if you have to.
>>
I recommend you add the tamagoyaki to your Asian menu. It's like omelettes, but better.

Might be looking into. But the success of this dish really depends on the soy sauce, kikkoman is terrible for it.

udon
rice
fish
seaweed
broth
soy sauce
fish sauce (key ingredient)
sesame oil (key ingredient)
onions
bok choy
soybeans
thinly sliced pork

Mixing and matching any of these ingredients will make something delicious with a different name.
>rice+fish=sashimi
>egg noodle+broth+pork=udon
>rice+soy sauce+vegetable=stir fry

IMPORTANT: fish sauce and sesame oil are MANDATORY do not even attempt Asian food without either!

i unironically got into cooking asian food because of this shit. I figured the food was good and this guy was good at it, so i might as well try cooking it myself.

You've never actually been to Asia have you, weeb-anon?
>>
>>8523796
sashimi 刺身 lit means cut body - there is no rice involved

udon is just salt flour and water, the broth is just kaeshi and dashi with toppings like tenkasu, aburaage

stirfry is whatever the fuck anyone wants it to be

fish sauce isnt really a key ingredient unless youre cooking like vietnamese or thai

and sesame oil is mostly just used in korean cooking with very little use in japanese

Afghan cuisine is the best Asian food.

I'm a weeb who got into japanese food a while ago
My favorites are:
anything donburi (esp. gyudon w/ raw egg)
Tamago kake gohan (Raw egg on rice)
I like to make soba whenever I have buckwheat on hand (simple kake soba, tempura soba if you can fry, etc)
Simple Fried rice, of course
Onigiri
Simple maki (Natto maki if you are a masochist like me, cucumber, california rolls etc.)
Miso (Dashi is real easy to make and miso paste will go a long way)
Udon anything
Gyoza and some other types of dumplings are suprisingly cheap and easy to make in bulk and can be frozen for later
Omurice (very versatile and simple. you don't necessarily have to use ketchup if you are an anti-ketchup guy like me)

That's all off the top of my head
