LA isn't a particularly good place for pizza (or Italian in general). Safest bet would be one of Batali's Mozza places. Not cheap though.

Check out Old Town Pizza. Not a huge pizza guy, but I really like it there.

It's in Monrovia which is close to Pasadena.

Mulberry Street Pizza in Beverly Hills has the closest thing to New York Pizza on the west coast if you end up near the Hollywood area.

LA's food scene is shit. Every place is just a meme, like all these ramen shops that keep opening and closing like crazy. If anything, we may have some of the better sushi restaurants if you know where to look.
