I just made bread from scratch for the first time after many failed attempts using premade bread mixes. Ripping it open and seeing the inside was nice and fluffy made me temporarily forget the swirling torrent of depression that my life has become.
Looks nice. Recipe?

That's great. Baking is really satisfying. It's been a year at least since I bought bread at store. Making them all by myself, mostly ciabattas, baguettes and sandwich bread and some pastry.

I think it was 150g strong white flour, 1/2tsp yeast, then 100ml of warm water and a touch of salt. I added flour a bit at a time until it formed a form in the bowl as I stirred it, then I kneaded for like 5 minutes and left it to rise for a while. Then 200c for 16 minutes.

... How?

I dunno they just never rose so I put them in the oven anyway and they ended up as just a solid blob of bread.

If you want to get a more artisinal hard crust with a light interior, try baking it freeform on a preheated stone with a small pan of boiling water in the lower rack. For myself, I like a crust with a crunchy texture except for something like a hamburger bun.

*also, a double rise usually gives a better crumb than a single rise. That is, you punch down after the first rise, shape and let rise until almost doubled.
Focusing on hobbies like baking, cooking, learning another language can help break out of mild depressions, but if it starts getting really bad, go ahead and seek assistance from the godawful medfags. Although they're pirates, they've been known to get people back on track.
Bread baking is my favorite thing right now. Here's the sourdough I made yesterday. Ignore my improvised cooling rack.
Ayyy lmao
Made this.
Can't get a better pic sadly, too large.
