Whatever shit my gf makes, it's all good. I cover the west, she's got the east.

>szechuan chicken stir fry
What makes it szechuan? Or are you throwing that word around just because?
Mine?
Mapo tofu. Though just about anything with doubanjiang in it is god tier.

I made pork belly over coconut rice last week, came out good enough that it's gone now.
A few months ago I made orange chicken, what a HUGE pain in the ass that turned out to be. Super messy, super time consuming and I just didn't get the flavor right. It wasn't inedible but I personally wasn't happy with the results.

the sauce its made of ginger, garlic, red pepper, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce sugar and cornstarch
i regularly make ramen noodles with fried tofu and a soft boiled egg on top. literally the best in poverty-tier oriental dining

so it contains none of the key ingredients you expect from sichuan province?
No douchi? No doubanjiang? No tienmenjiang? No zha cai? No hua jiao?
>>8480039
It's Americanized Chinese food you ass. I'm sure in szechuan province they just call it sauce.

then why didn't you say so? How are we supposed to know if you're making a knockoff dish or the real thing? It's the internet. You might very well be in fucking chengdu for all we know.
and by the way, all of those ingredients I mentioned are easily found in any asian supermarket, or mail-ordered. So there's no reason why you can't make the real deal.
I'm as white as a fucking sheet and I have no problem using those things in my home cooking.

I'm not OP but if you're an amerilard you should know what that sauce is.
>>8480068
I am an amerilard. But without knowing where OP is from, how am I supposed to know what version he's trying to make given that there is no context?

I love those threads, so retarded.
>Hey I'm broke what should I eat for dinner?
How the fuck should I know, I don't know where you are, your available transportation, your budget or what you can and can't cook...fucking reddit posts, and people unironically reply to them. It just gets funny after a while.

i have no problem with using any foreign or domestic spices but where i'm from my options are limited so i make the what i can find work for me and when i made this sauce it actually came close to the authentic taste of what szechuan sauce

you have the internet. Therefore you have access to *anything*.
