My roommate works at some gastropub that does this, now he doesn't eat burgers without PB. I tried and it's surprisingly delicious.
Pickled red cabbage, onion, pork belly (and I mean Schlachteplatte grade). some mayo, some stone ground mustard, and that sad beef patty you have.

Some things to add to burg
Blue cheese like roquefort for big taste, gruyere is full and nutty
Making your own bbq sauce works great with bacon and balances sweet/salty in the vein of many modern burger joints
Brioche, and increasingly sourdough buns are popular, working well with sweet and tart flavours respectively
Alternative burger ideas
Haggis, whisky sauce
Pulled pork, burnt apple puree
Lamb rump, mint and cumin
As for the ideal beef burg
Sweat onion and a lil garlic, thyme, white pepper and add to the patties once cooled down
Use a flavourful cut. Chuck is the classic, but I have had great results with rump, short rib, and rib eye
Grill that shit or at least use a griddle pan, we wanna see some malliard
Compact the patties to fuck to prevent falling apart. Use cling film and a mould and remove all the air

>Peanut butter and bacon
>weird
why would that be weird? it's common in asian/ chinese dishes to have peanut sauce with your noodles & meat or whatever

Exactly that's so pricy and it's as easy to make ground beef into patties as making a snowball.
Spread some mushroom pate on the buns if you can get hold of it or even better make it yourself.
