Save up. The Vitamix/Blendtec-class of blenders are worth it. But make sure you care enough about soups/smoothies/nut butter/etc to make the investment.

I do not care enough about any of those things to drop 200 dollars. I just want to make the occasional frozen margarita or mango lassi without finding bits of blade in my drink or having it stuggle to get through ice cubes.
