Why do people pay 10 quid more for a dominos/pizza hut pizza when the supermarket ones taste just the same?
>>
>>8423552
>Roman style base
Wew.
>>
Stop talking utter shit. Store bought pizza never has the flavor and density that Dominos, etc has. I've yet to buy a store bought pizza where the cheese didn't taste like rubber or where the pepperoni didn't just fall off.
>>
>>8424506

Major pizza chains are literally frozen pizzas. The only difference is that they thaw them and assemble them.
>>
>>8424510
You must be American? Pizza dough is made in Dominos and pizza Hut stores here from a flour mix usually the day of sale
>>
>>8424558
Obviously American (the original country for both those places) fuck of eurofag
>>
>>8424562
I'm not a euro
>>
>>8424558
Incorrect.
>>
>>8423552
for me it's usually a 3am drunken impulse dominos
that said they don't taste the same
>>
>>8424583
What?

When I was in highschool, I worked at Panago Pizza (Canada, not sure if the americans have Panago too).

The store received sacks of pizza dough mix, which we dumped into mixers with oil, yeast and water.

After mixing, dough was portioned, covered, and placed in the walk-in fridge to use the next day. We always used day-old dough. I believe it gave the dough time to rise, and develop a richer flavor.

What's your point?

Real question is why would someone pay £5.25 for this when you can buy a medium size two topping pizza from Dominoes for £5.99
>>
>>8423552
because were lazy and stupid.
>>
>>8424506
the non-frozen take-and-bake ones aren't so bad

>>
>>8425074
that's actually a damn good idea
>>
>>8425125
I think the least ive ever spent on a dominos is £15 after deals, its fuckin robbery, it would be over 25£ just for a pizza + a side if they didnt have deals and they dont always, its crazy.
>>
>>8425074
it does, covering and fridging dough for two days makes that flavor even more pronounced
>>
>>8425144
being this much of a fatass to need more than 2 toppings.
>>
>>8423552
Because there is a difference taste between pizza cooked in a regular household oven, and a pizza oven.
>>
>>8425162
just for that I'm gonna order a pizza with every vegetable they have
>>
>>8425169

If we're talking about a place with a proper stone oven then, yes, you're 100% correct.

But a generic pizza place like domino's and pizza hut that OP mentioned don't have that. They have an electric oven set to about 450F. That's no better than what do you can do with a normal home oven.
>>
>>8425169
The "pizza oven" at a typical pizza chain is literally just a conveyer belt with an electric heater. Your home oven replicates an actual pizza oven more than that does.

In my experience, a good frozen pizza beats a chain pizza any time.
>>
>>8425173
so, none then?

>>8424896
Uh ok

>>8425074
I worked at a Pizza chain here too when I was about 16, it was the next biggest after Dominos and pizza slut. We had the premix bags of flour too that was poured into the mixer, however we would portion the dough out and put it straight into oiled pans that went in the walk in fridge. Usually it was done the night before too, but before the dinner rush. Quite often in the quiet part of the afternoon once lunch was over.

Must be disgusting having hfcs loaded frozen pizza "bases" in amerilard land
>>
>>8423552
I know chain pizza isn't great but don't lie to yourself, frozen pizza is a full tier lower.

Also the difference is more like $3 to $5 if you're not retarded and use coupons/specials.
>>
Frozen pizzas taste cardboardy and take time to prepare. They break apart and don't have a "fresh" taste to them. Everything melts all funky.

I can get a Domino's pizza for $6 as long as I grab a sandwich or something with it, and then have leftovers for later.
>>
>>8425125
I would rather eat my own shit than ever have to eat Domino's again

When these are on sale they're a great deal compared to a Domino's pie
