I've literally never cleaned anything in my apartment. How, you may ask? I eat off paper plates, use plastic eating utensils, and cover my floor in newspaper, if something gets spilled I can just put more paper on it.

Every night, after prepping the next day's meals and before making dessert.

You should never sweep or especially mop floors. Just pick up any things that drop and occasional spill some salt and wipe it with a dry towel. Your floor will develop a dark, hard patina that will serve as a better floor surface than a bare or waxed floor.

By more, I meant when I actually drop something on the floor. The daily sweeps pick up small amounts of dirt, dust, hair and detritus that will naturally collect on the large horizontal surface areas in a house. It's not a lot per day, but this is the room you prepare food in. It only takes one minute.

The help cleans it for me, twice a month

I almost never spill anything and am very clean but not autistic clean or ocd clean. what the hell is wrong with you people? I bet your homes reek like cat piss even though you have no cat. my gf is like this and cleans once a week, her home looks like a pigsty. clothes everywhere cups, pots and pans everywhere. carpet with stains. bed never done. bathroom a mess. christ, the worst part is she gets paid 100 bucks to clean her own house by her parents. It's not a choice...either do it or enter into a world of caked-on filth that you will inevitably regret. Put the work in one way...put it in the other...it is what it is, man. Re-examine those pans and plates...underneath the oven....the kitchen floor. It's a constant battle on the other end. Gotta maintain...I'm no clean-freak, but shit...life is better with a clean kitchen.
