xmas dinner
best meal of the year
>>8403834
Brussel sprouts right by dish. Personal dish just has assorted meat and bread. Jesus man, eat some greens.
>>8403817
Pork carnitas, fried yuca, and fried plantains
got some kalamata olives for tapenade, fancy cheeses, and a baguette as an appetizer also
also a giant bag of nacho cheese doritos
Made tamales for Xmas presents, also ate a bunch on Christmas Eve for dinner. Making chef johns Christmas lasagna tonight
>>8403817
Pretty basic but it was nice. Yorkshire pudding came out well, made a giant one and sliced it up. Mixed some fat from the turkey with chicken stock to make a gravy. Pretty happy with it, turkey came out better than I expected considering I didn't brine it or prep it beforehand. Basic seasoning, stuffed it with onion and lemon halves and covered in bacon before roasting.
3x Ramen
1x Egg
4x tbsp of shredded cheese
2x tbsp of sriracha
1x tbsp of soy sauce
Boiled water, drain 2/3rd of the water after
>>8403817

Chicken pot pie and rice
Just finished Christmas brunch.
Biscuits with bacon gravy and fresh fruit. So good, but so filling.
>>8403907
I just reported this, have fun in the pokey, faggot
I have pulled chicken going in the crock pot with red chili for chicken and potato burros. Will get drunk and eat them soon
My mom sent me a big package of Omaha Steaks. I'm sure they're going to be pretty mediocre, but I'm having a steak, a pork chop, a chicken breast, and a sausage for dinner and nobody can fucking stop me.
My mother is taking the leftovers she made on Christmas Eve and is reheating them, bland dry mashed potatos, reheated $1 biscuits, and delicious pot roast that she didn't make.
My grandmother brought some premium prepackaged Wal-Mart salad.
The worst part is that we aren't even poor, my mother is just literally the laziest person on Earth and refused to buy anything for Christmas.
Yum! I really want to die!
had a rice and bean burrito, gonna have more rice later probably
Yeasty bread with cinnamon and walnuts
Dips
>>8403946
>>8403947
Very good mushroom dip. All made from scratch. No canned soup crap.
>>8403933
Haha! This is exactly what my mom is doing. We had a standing rib roast yesterday, there was a fair amount left over. The plan was for ham today, but the ham is cancelled in favor of leftovers. Because the ham lasts for months, why cook it if there is leftovers?
And yes, there will be stale tortilla chips as snacks, the same bowl of peanuts as yesterday, the same old cookies, more 25 cents a pound baked spuds, bagged salad and dry old rolls.
And she will still pat herself on the back for serving it. Something about old people serving old food as if its "just as good". And I'm sure the salad dressing is expired as are the croutons.
I think they still remember the Great Depression and rations of World War 2. Or at least heard about that shit endlessly from their parents. Don't you dare waste a thing, its never spoiled or stale, add shit to the meat to "extend" it (aka, dilute it) like fucking meatloaf.
Its Christmas for Christ's sake. And no they aren't poor either. Just extremely cheap.
Cured rainbow trout
Smoked lamb
Roast beef
Head cheese
Boar ribs
Liverwurst
Pickled lamprey
Meat balls
Prince sausage
Horse sausage
Janssons frestelse
A whole bunch of different kinds of pickled herring
The smoked salmon was unfortunately missing this year.
>>8403959
I hate you
Fuck I made pork chops with sriracha and ginger last night and almost fucking died because some fucking faggot from this board told me to let them cook just until pink meat
>this thread stickied
Why can't we have a legitimate sticky that we can point all the newfags to when they come and shit this place up
>>8403963
But why?
Duck and roast pork.
Was delicious.
>>8403946
Your dips look incredible
I ate at a casino buffet and it was actually quite good
>>8404037
You're in the PNW, aren't you?
Corn Pudding
Corn Bread
Mac and Cheese
Roast Chicken
Slow Cooked Green Beans
Apple Pie
Blueberry Pie
>>8404037
I'm in the south, so the buffet had things like
Candied yams
Carrot souffle
Smoked turkey necks, pic related
Fried catfish
Crawfish etoufee
Brisket
Oxtail
No dishes, great service, overall a nice alternative to Christmas morning at home
Me and my dad are making beef wellington for the first time. But we didn't have puff pastry so we used pizza dough. Hopefully it turns out ok.
>>8404048
>yams
Stop calling them yam, they're sweet potatoes.
You're American, not African.
Cranberry pudding
>>8403834

I had vegan lasagna, smoked salmon, duchess potatoes, and onion/avocado/lemonjuice salad. Then some vegan panettone with coffee and dark chocolate.
>>8404129
Was the coffee fair trade?
>>8404102
that's less than what 5 quid gets you on a budget restaurant on sunday roast.
>roast pork with stuffing and gravy
>baked sweet potatos
>veggie pasta
>fruit cup with low fat creme fraiche
Was awesome and I managed to stay on my cut for the whole day.
Until I ate 400grams of pannetone.
>>8404131
I sure hope so
>>8404088
Normally I do call them sweet potatoes, but the name of the dish is candied yams. Nobody calls it candied sweet potatoes. Merry Christmas
>>8404088
I think it's a regional thing: I'm in the PNW and most people call them yams, however it may be different where you are, IDK
We had semi Sweet Chamorro (tender meat leg) with mashed potatoes.
And we just had a Menudo Breakfast
>>8403817
bagels with lox and tuna salad for brunch.
turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy for supper.
it was good but I feel pretty worn out, spent practically the whole day cooking.
Someone got me pic related. I like reese's but bigger is not better. The holiday reese's Christmas trees are the best. They have the best chocolate to peanut butter ratio in my opinion
>>8404110
Did you forget your meds today, or what?
>>8403817
Had some foie gras.
Pretty good.
nothing because im alone and sad :(
>>8403872
>implying you forgot it's Hannnicagh.
>>8403959
>meat and salt
We had a variation on beef bourguignon. Beef short ribs, Malbec wine instead of burgundy, shiitake shrooms.
Stew pork w/rosemary and a bit of anise
Boiled Rice w/ spinach
Honey and anise glazed ham
Mac n cheese from scratch
Cesar salad
(Mushrooms stir fried in garlic, rosemary sauce; fried plantain)
What's in the bracket are what I didn't eat. No pic because it slipped my mind and now there no more food...it was so good tho.
>>8403817
I got an orange.
Strange, bitter thing.
I had a nice dinner and breakfast with my family earlier, so tonight it was just me. I sat out more of an assortment of snacks to nibble on...
Mixed Nuts
Dried Apricots
Dried Prunes
Gouda Cheese
Honey Turkey slices
Wheat crackers
I also made some green bean casserole that I had too. I needed to use the ingredients, and casseroles are Christmas as fuck to me.
I had a glass of eggnog and some dark chocolate milano cookies earlier. Might finish off the night with another glass before bed.
>>8404131
No, why would it be?
>>8404284
I like you
>>8404359
Of fuck I had this badass sweet hot mustard too
It was so good
>>8404338
I skipped listing things like potatoes, salad, eggs, beet salad, chanterelle omelet, etc.
>>8403817
For brunch I had leftover shells and cheese. For lunch/dinner I had two pb and js and barbecue chips. I'm lonely guys.
>>8404423
Don't be lonely anon, Merry Christmas to you! I'm sitting here with two other people and we're all looking at our computers instead of doing something together. Of course, we're all depressives, and I'm about to make Christmas dinner so we can all sit around and depressingly eat it (grilled steak, lobster stuffed potatoes, and sauteed spinach, with yeast rolls and a special cake from the fanciest bakery in town). You should have seen us opening gifts this morning........
Anyway, even weirdo people like us care about you, so have a good night and we're here for you.
This is my Christmas dinner since my family is now officially broke.
A leftover beef and bacon french dip sandwich i purchased from a diner yesterday because everything is closed today
I will eat it in my shitty motel room because I haven't been able to find an apartment for 2 months and my parents didn't want me to stay with them
>>8404497
Why not?
>>8404431
Thank you. I've had a weird day, but your post has helped. If I ever decide to kill everyone in the world and get the power to do so, you will be spared and become one of my personal chefs! Your friends, depending on their sex, can be sex slaves or regular slaves! It's a better fate than death or torture in a hostile world!
I truly do appreciate your kindness!
>>8404501
i'm a college drop out NEET and they are baby boomer fuckheads
not pictured: dakimakura, figurines
Steak, pork chop, chicken breast, keilbasa, bacon-wrapped breakfast sausage, onions rings, fried potatoes, and toast. Apple cider on the side.

>>8404502
Eh, I can handle being a personal chef no problem. I look forward to being spared while the world burns. Anyway, I'm glad my post helped a bit, and like I said, we're here for you, try and enjoy your night!
>>8404497
What the holy shit. Damn.....I hate shitty families.
>>8404463
Sorry anon, I know that feel, we've been seriously broke before. But, money comes and money goes, and it'll get better soon.

>>8403817
Grandpa went all out and made a almost complete bollito misto. Shit was decadent.
>>8403872
>not celebrating Christmakkah
what a pleb
My family hates me.
My christmas present was a set of fancy chopsticks that I bought for myself.
I sat in my apartment and ate 10 cans of water chestnuts with some plain egg noodles.
Also got 3 texts from my mum showing my family eating christmas dinner and making jokes about me.
It isn't even fair, they hate me for a ridiculous reason and ruined my life.
>>8405464
tell us more...
>>8405468
Not much to tell. About 2 years ago on my brothes 18th birthday my whole family went for a beer without me because he was legal (UK fag). So I got angry at being left out, and took every single ID, birth certificate, passport in the house and tried to cook them in the oven so they wouldn't be able to buy beer anymore. Accidentally started a fire and destroyed the entire kitchen.
>>8405469
That's not a ridiculous reason is it mate?
>>8405471
yes, it was an accident. it was more their fault for being huge dickheads. besides they hated me anyway clearly.
>>8405472
Deliberately destroying all those valuable papers was an accident?
I can understand your frustration. My local licensing centre came up with my ID a week late for my 18th but my family kept the reservation and went out without me (I didn't want to go out if I couldn't drink).
I felt like doing something different this year, so I made homemade spaghetti sauce cooked with pork bones, parmesan meatballs, rosemary garlic bread and a simple salad with just a vinegarette. Instead of spaghetti, I served the sauce over spiralized zucchini.
I didn't bother taking a photo of that, but I also made a chocolate and peppermint cheesecake. I am not gifted when it comes to photography.

I can see them being furious with you for awhile, but 2 years later and they still are torturing you for it? They're dicks.
Family is family, and even your own family members make mistakes and act like dicks sometimes (like you did. Yes, what you did was stupid and weird misplaced anger.) Either your family are horrible mean people, OR you're not telling us everything, like you've done other stuff like this or act like a psycho in some other ways.
Either way, I'm sorry you had to spend Christmas alone, and I'm really sorry your family tortured you further by sending you pictures and texts of what they were doing. That's just psycho of them, as well.
I suggest counseling for you, as well as the rest of your family (but not all together, god no.)
Bumping for more x-mas food. My x-mas desserts pic related
>>8403915
