If you are a terrible cook, skip crab, you'll poison everyone and the canned stuff sucks. Mushrooms also get soggy if you leave them out.

Do pigs in a blanket. Canned crescent rolls, some hillshire farm mini dogs and you're good to go.

Or you could get a bag or two of those precooked frozen meatballs, toss them in the crock pot with some jelly, and either buy a box of toothpicks or a package if those mini Hawaiian rolls.

Or deviled eggs. Separating yolks from white really isn't as scary as it, just watch a tutorial.

Just go get an overpriced vegetable tray from Wal Mart.

Better to stick on the safe side. Do something like >>8393511
Suggested. The mini links are pretty much idiot proof and the cresecent roll dough is easy to work with. You can make mozzerlla stuffed meatballs with your own ground beef, seasonings, egg and breadcrumbs, or just buy really good frozen ones.

I was about to make a similar thread on potluck items. Can't say I read the post because I'm drink, but I'll assume it follows a similar train of thought.

We had a "potluck" today which involved ordered out chinese and mexican food. It was lazy and half-assed. I'm planning to bring something into the office on christmas day because an unfortunate fact of my job is that all the people I like always seem to be scheduled to work shit hours on holidays.

What should I bring them to make those shitty 8 hours seems less shitty?

make zuppa toscana, takes 45 minutes to make enough to serve 15 people and is all of 8 ingredients, bring bread.
>>
How big is the company? Are we talking like, 15 people expected? One shift?

Single shift, you can do something easy like cream of mushroom and chicken breasts. Like a 2 breasts to one can ratio. Cut up and caramelize like three onions, drop the mix into a slow cooker on low for about 5 hours and serve. Next to no actual cooking involved and it tastes great.

This guys' got a great idea. It's very similar to a recipe I saw for crockpot chicken and dumplings

http://www.spendwithpennies.com/crock-pot-chicken-and-dumplings/

Everything's in the crockpot and it's done basically overnight. The most labor intensive part is cutting up the biscuits, it's great comfort food, especially if you're in a cold area.

I also made this goulash recipe that was pretty damn tasty for how simple it was. It's heavy on the cheese so you can cut down on it if you want and you won't sacrifice much.

I don't know guys, I was thinking something like coffee and bagels with cream cheese for breakfast and some homemade cookies. The coffee and bagels are easily bought, but the homemade cookies I'd like to do something special. Know any good cookie recipes that aren't your standard traditional kind?
>>
>>8393733

I like to make chocolate chip cookies, but instead of chocolate I use cookie dough.
>>
>>8393750

W-What?
>>
>>8393733
Ah ok, well I have a recipe for chocolate chip cookies, but it's a bit labor intensive. It involves browning butter and letting the dough sit overnight

http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2013/12/the-food-lab-best-chocolate-chip-cookie-recipe.html

This comes out absolutely awesome. you get a nice kind of caramel/toffee vibe with the cookies and they come out nice and chewy. You can skip the sea salt if you don't want it, either way they're great. They just require at least 24 hours of prep time is all.

The Tollhouse cookie recipe on the back of the chocolate chip bag is always a good standby if you don't want to wait overnight for the dough to set.
