Crazy how far removed some people are from their food. It's literally an egg with a tiny chicken inside, both things the average north american eats on a regular basis. Sure, it doesn't look super appealing, but it hardly deserves the usual disgust people give it. It's also tasty as fuck, so who gives a shit.

Shouldn't there be osseous tissue and keretinous tissue in balut? Wouldn't that make it unpleasant to eat? I'm hesitant to shout it down as simply being "gross", but I think the combinations of textures of an entire foetal organism and the undigestable bits would make it rather unpalatable, rather than merely barbaric.
