I've got some pork shoulder, spinach tomato, yellow and white onion, and a handful of spices.
What can I throw together buying only minimal ingredients?

Braise the shoulder in water, soy sauce and a broth cube of your choice, add the yellow onion while braising once the meat is cooked carve it up and enjoy it in a variety of ways, tacos, sandwich meat, etc.

fuck this noise. smoke it.
cover it with garlic powder, seasoned salt, black pepper, cumin, cayenne, brown sugar, onion powder.
throw it on a grill and smoke it for 13 hours while you drink beer and watch football.
when it's comes to 170-180 in the middle pull it off and double wrap it in foil and place inside a cooler stuffed with towels.
wait til internal is up to 205. shred it and use it for awesome meals.

awe damn. you can still make pulled pork without smoke. use the oven. garlic, salt, pepper and what ever else you want with bbq-esque flavors and then finish the same as if you smoked it. if you want to be able to slice it, just stop the cooking when it reaches 175-180 in the middle. if you have a probe thermometer.

230-270, 12 hours. that looks like about a 8lb shoulder. cover it the last 3 hours. im tempted to take mine off the grill in about 6 hours and finish it in the oven so i can nap and don't have to tend the fire at all. let me change camera settings and throw a pic at you. v20 takes 12 mb pictures. =/

I did end up having to pull it off the smoker after a while because of wind. Super tough to manage temp using a kettle for a smoker. Put it in the oven at 250f. Ended up with about 4.75lb after 4 of us ate.
