Do any of you eat alone at restaurants?

I did occasionally. Either diner places or bars though.

When I lived in the city I ate at some Asian restaurant alone since I was craving sushi. I had a couple looking over at me the whole time (it was just 3 of us sitting at the back patio) and when I left the chefs laughed at me saying "table for one?!".

Diners or any fast food places are better to eat at alone since people assume you're on lunch break.

Ive eaten alone plenty of times. Years ago, it used to bother me, i always hated eating alone. Now I really enjoy it. I can do my own thing, enjoy my food, take all the time I want. Its awesome. Sit at the bar if you actually want to interact with others, or at a table if you enjoy your alone time.

About two weeks ago, I went to dine at a semi-high end restaurant which is reasonably prices at $125 for a three course meal. I didn't feel odd, or out of place. I was simply seated, served my food, enjoyed a glass of Pritchard Hill--a moderately expensive wine--and left upon completion. The experience was delightful. I had mentioned to my garcon that I would loved to take a peek at the kitchen and at the end of the meal I was escorted back and introduced to that evening's head chef. I gave my compliments for the meal and a notion that I appreciated all of their hard work, then departed shortly after.

It was a good evening. I'm unsure what people are so caught up on about dining alone.

At any rate, eating alone in public is actually fairly common. You probably don't notice it when it's not you. The more casual the restaurant, the less likely you are to stand out, but wherever you go, who really gives a fuck?

There's a dope sushi place behind where i work in this heritage section of town, and I eat there pretty regularily. The homie who'se rolling them sushies just looks at me n says, "uushuol?" i nod and take my same spot at the bar, and he calls out my order to the serving staff as he whips up my avo-kyu.

Yes I only eat alone. I pretend that I'm a long haul trucker from Wyoming to help me deal with the embarrassment of eating alone. I even dress up, use an accent, and I've developed a whole persona and back story for my character.

Yeah if I have an hour or something open in my work schedule while I'm working I'll stop in at a diner or something, sit at the bar, and take a quick break.
I work as a pest control tech so I'm always going all around the state finding new places to eat. I spend most of the time talking to other people at the bar before I head out again.
I'm not afraid of eating by myself, especially while wearing company gear/clothes.

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that I probably eat at restaurants alone more than with other people. Not even just fast food or places like that but actual nice restaurants. Just earlier today I went to a sushi place for their lunch special and just sat at the bar. Other people were there alone too on lunch break, it's really not a big deal. I eat out for most of my meals, I literally eat alone probably at least once a day. Ask me anything.

I'm lucky, the only person I ever eat with (unless I'm having dinner with my family) is my best friend and he's the fastest eater I've ever met so I never have to worry about matching his pace.

If I can eat at the bar then it's perfectly good especially with lunch.
