Anyone have a recipe for American, hard jujubes?
All the recipes I can find online are for Indian soft versions.
1. Take 5lbs of gelatin.
2. Dissolve in 1tbsp of water.
3. Add artificial food colorings & flavorings.
That should come close. You might need to bake them in a steel furnace for three days to get the right level of tough chewy tastelessness, though.
The most important ingredients in American jujubes are modified corn starch, artificial flavor, Red Lake 40, and phosphorized uranium

Can't you just take the Indian ones and leave them out. Let them harden by themselves?

These weren't even that tasty but every time I got a box I could never put them down
>Corn Syrup, Sugar, Modified Food Starch (Potato), White Mineral Oil (Adds a Trivial Amount of Fat), Carnauba Wax, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Artificial Colors (Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6, Blue 1).
