Chateauneuf-du-pape, and the surrounding côtes du rhones. I've a thing for the grenache from there and the languedoc.
Otherwise, Burgundy, for both white and red.
Other favourites include Tuscany (Brunello di Montalcino), le Valais (fendant), Sicilian whites with a mineral tang, strong Georgian reds and the good German riesling they don't export outside of Germany except to restaurants.
