looking to buy my girlfriend some gifts for Christmas and i was thinking about getting her some cast iron, I was thinking a lodge 10.25inch cast iron skillet (non enameled) and a Lodge 6qt enameled dutch oven....Is this a bad idea? Should i get larger or smaller sizes. Also probably mostly only cooking for herself and I, (no future kids either)
anyone?

Look, there's been million of these threads but I'll take a moment to say that finding cast iron at an Estate Sale is the best way to go.
6qt is fine
Lodge non-enameled is fine just get a 12"
enameled cast iron should be Staub or GTFO.

While Staub is just as good, Le Creuset if you want your dick sucked.
What do you plan on cooking in the pan? I would go a carbon steel pan. Lighter, heats up quicker, great for searing. Does not retain heat as well as cast iron. It does need similar maintanence and seasoning to perform well. Does she cook for a hobby? Bake? Something like a thermapen thermometer either the pop or the full size one are good gifts for someone who enjoys cooking.
THIS IS THE VOICE OF YOUR ANCESTORS YOU MUST REPRODUCE! those sounds decent though consider getting a pan handler for the skillet it my experience it gets a bit too hot to lift with without oven gloves.
I would say get her a le creuset. I got mine at a discount at TJ Maxx and used it 3 years until I dropped it whilst washing it. Le creuset replaced it with very little hassle.
Bud, if your babies last as long as cast iron pans, your DNA has a great chance of swimming into the future.
