Mycology general thread

Going to build a mushroom - room here after I get the jars fully colonized. Plastic wrap around an entire area. Air purifier inside the plastic room. 2 gallon birthing buckets... just not sure if PFTek will actually produce morels or chanterelle

Morels are very difficult and chanterelles near impossible to grow. Have you grown the more commonly cultivated mushrooms like button, oyster and shiitake and looking for a challenge? If not I'd stick to the regular plugs and fool proof mushroom boxes you can get these days.

First run here trying to get the feel. Had planned on doing some buttons and maybe oyster but was going to try a few different strains since each cake will be separated in its own birthing bucket.

Also not doing a premade set up. Going to be setting up my own everything. Pressure cooking a PFTek mixture for sterilization then inoculating half cup or cup mason jars.

PFtek is and shotgun boxes are the best way for a clandestine grow in a dorm closet. If you have space and privacy just grow bulk trays.
