why the fuck didn't anyone tell me port wine was so delicious?
it's not, it's way too sweet and syrupy
>port wine
That shit gives me a stomach ache every time I drink it. I don't really see the appeal unless you're trying to be a frugal alcoholic.
Port is one of three boozes I keep in the cooking cabinet. Marsala and cheap dry vermouth are the other two.

You probably never asked.
Port and Stilton Cheese, is a very British way to finish a meal

or as it's more commonly known, port.
It's good stuff.
Last year I was in Porto, and I did a tour plus tasting at the Sandeman's cellar. The quide was a qt that wore a the cape and hat of their logo. (I'm sure other cellars have similar tours and tastings). I recommend it.
If you want to really blow your mind OP, find a whiskey that has been aged in a port cask instead of an oak cask. Changes the entire flavor profile.

Try Madeira too.
