Potatoes, carrot, cabbage, onion, most vegetables are not expensive. Beans. Beans are amazing And incredibly cheap. Eggs are another cheap protein. Other proteins can get tricky and more expensive. Good options are when chicken breast goes on sale or ground chicken is always cheap.

I live in a really expensive country and just bought over a weeks worth of meat, salad, nuts and quark for about 40 dollars. Without thinking a budget just for once buying everything that I felt like buying. Two persons could live for a month for 100 dollars eating pretty healthy and it wouldn't even be hard.
