When I had to live on campus (had to. They literally forced all incoming freshmen to live on campus and required a mealplan) we did the math on how much we were actually paying to eat at that shithole cafeteria
We could, instead of eating there, go to a reasonably upscale italian restaurant and stuff ourselves on their classically american-sized portions. Every day.
Twice.
For about $300 less per semester.

God that place was awful. I subsisted off of brocoli pizza and shitty hamburgers every day because they literally couldnt cook rice or pasta right.
