Mc Donalds. And it's still twice the price you pay in the US or even the UK

It depends, there are many kinds. And best is a very loose term in a city with such diverse options.
It's a world city so you'll find all kind of non-French restaurants which can be very good.
But here are some places which are more French cuisine oriented and not stupidly fancy :
- "éclair de génie" : a couple of pastry shops specialized in eclairs, they are really top notch,
- any wine bar with ham & cheese, really, just go on yelp and find one close to you with good ratings, there is no point crossing the city to get you a good one,
- la recyclerie, porte de Saint-Ouen, hipster as fuck but food is good
Au Pied de Cochon

>Not ridiculously expansive
Pick one
I went to Paris for PGW as a pro player and they sold me a lemonade for 4€ and there were sandwiches at over 10€

Well, if it's as a commercial event aimed at a consumer audience, of course it is going to be.
The lebanese sandwiches of Beaubourg are top tier and at very decent prices

>not going to bakeries and getting yourself a croque monsieur for 2€ and a drink for 1.50€
Also OP my friend took me to Le Pretexte on 111 Tue de Tolbiac and you can get a good traditional bistro meal for around 30€.
