I want to make the perfect Chinese noodle soup. I am looking for more ingredients which will add spiciness to it. So far, I have
>garlic
>ginger
>onion powder
>soy sauce
It turned out OK, but there has to be more. Give me more suggestion /ck/

Sichuan pepper. You can replace it with black pepper if you want.
Ground cover and cinnamon. Use both sparingly in Chinese food (and liberally in Indian food).
Also, add just a little bit of sugar. It'll enhance other flavours, among them spiciness.

thanks!
also, is doubanjiang (sichuan chilli pepper in bean paste) any good? I read that it is fried in oil to further enhance the taste
Try to put some Lao Gan Ma, there is a lot of chinese chili sauces like HaHa hot bean sauce (a bit too thick for noodles soup) that can improve your soup's taste

Chilli oil might also work

Old Asian lady sauce is great on everything

So far so good, although minced garlic would be better than garlic powder. Also add one gun.
doujiang
