all the times I've had pumpkin pie it was more sweet, though I'll admit I grew up in the deep south surrounded in quaint little ol' grandmas who LOVED to dump sugar into anything they could get their teeny fingers on. most of the sweet potato pie I've had, I had in the northeast.

If you enjoy it though, I really would suggest trying to make it. Homemade pie is so much better than store bought.
