Bump. Looking for some good cooking book too. Havent cooked much more then noodles and really simple stuff.
The only book I used growing up was the Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book (1985). I don't know if you can still find them or if they're still printing revised ones, but it's a nice book full of all the basics. I started using this to learn how to make sauces and shit when I was in middle school, and didn't stop learning from it until I discovered the internet. The internet might be more useful than cookbooks, but if you want a book, there you go.
