I used to teach in an inner city middle school, can confirm that's pretty accurate and normal. Saw a mosquito hawk baked into a piece of pizza once.

Most of the kids would wait in line, get their food, immediately dump it into the trash, and then chow down on the Coke and Takis/Hot Cheetos they brought.
