Why haven't more fast food places come up with gimmick fries?

I had those exact Ore Ida garlic fries, were surprisingly good.

You cannot 'crisp' anything in the oven. Maybe you should try cooking popcorn by throwing the seeds into the freezer and hope for the best.

I agree with your overall sentiment, but of all the flavors you could have suggested, why black pepper? Does the litium cause your hands to shake so badly that you cannot open the little packets of pepper every fast food place has and season them yourself?

Black pepper is an easy-to-embrace flavor. If I advertise "umami flavor", it may sound like a turn off. Also fast food fries are a gamble each visit; seasoning immediately after cooking would yield a consistent flavor and coating that self seasoning cannot.
