Well, what is really going on with it? Pie - pretty much always a single fruit type, made into a jam type of result from cooking in this way, inside a pastry. I don't like fruit much even when its fresh, and that is the most acceptable form it has. In a pie like this, its very thick, almost dry, slimy, way too sweet and the only thing that almost saves it is the pastry. Fucking messy, that is a given. MORE sugar is inevitably added. You needed more, REALLY? Perhaps worst yet, its a dessert, and I have a problem with dessert in general... Did you not have enough in your disgustingly large meal? You need MORE shit? Fuck off. Pie sucks. Not even OP here.

Pies are awesome, quick, easy. Fruit pies, swet potato/squash pies, meat pies. Nothing like a good pumpkin pie. Replace the usual evaporated/condensed milk with heavy cream and you get a wonderfully light texture.

Pecan is indeed awful. It's just brown sugar and molasses as far as I can see. I thought pumpkin was awful until I found a good recipe. Most of it is very sticky and overspiced.
