Are there any wine snobs in /ck/? Looking into becoming a level 1 Sommelier. I work in fine dining, I surround myself in the lifestyle of wine, spirits and cuisine. I personally know 5 Somms. Is there any extra advice to really give me a push of learning and motivation? Books, films, websites, study techniques?
I see these get posted so often but they just die off. Not a big enough interest I guess
Feed The Beast was alright. Got cancelled, though

Level 2 Here.
Study, Study, Study, Study.
I cannot repeat this enough.
You should be very sufficient talking about the old world, and regional styles and differences. With level 1 don't focus too hard on learning about blind tasting you don't necessarily need to focus on that, more so theory than everything.
Can you name the five first growths?
Can you name the grape used to make sherry?
Whats the four noble varietals in an Alsace grand cru?
If you can't answer these type of questions you need to be studying more.
