Not since childhood have I had a close to enjoyable holiday meal.
Immediate family is all women with shitty temperaments. They will end up fighting or aggravating me. Last year I think we ate dinner in separate rooms. Sometimes I'll scarf down a plate just so I can escape to a room with a TV.
I won't get started on their cooking. They get angry when I try to interject with tips about cooking so we always end up with dry ass turkey floating in juices or some secondary meat that was cooked the night before then heated again until it's tough.
I feel like weeping sometimes when I see how they ruin a perfectly good turkey.
