Pretty much that. I'm looking for whiskey that's moderately priced but well above the colored rubbing alcohol that the drunks like. So any bourbon, Irish, Canadian, rye or single malt/blended scotch will do.
Pic related. $23 after tax (on sale) it'll never win any awards, but it drinks just fine.

Sorry about the pic, I swear I took it vertically. Here is another good example from my experience.
Tbh, pic related is much better than most people give credit. It makes a great sipping whiskey, smooth with a decent flavor. Also mixes well with anything. It's solidly middle shelf, but priced with the cheap stuff. My go-to whiskey.

The drunks like Seagrams, MacNaughtons, SoCo, and Rich n' Rare. Cheapest I've ever liked was Evan Williams. Don't drink it with Coke or you'll feel like you woke up with an axe in your head

I only drink Romanian gypsy whisky, made from barley and rye.
Tastes like leather and rubber.

This shit right here. Definitely my go-to

I love that stuff, especially the regular bourbon. It is about £22 a bottle here so not particularly cheap but hardly expensive either.
To be honest, Jim Beam white label is perfectly acceptable and at £13 a bottle you really can't complain.

I don't spend more than 10$ for a 5th of alcohol.
Rittenhouse Bottled in Bond
I was shocked that a $25 bottle of whiskey was so enjoyable.

I'll have to try it, I've heard good things.

I love Jim Beam black, but I also like variety.

I used to be able to get Evan Williams Single Barrel for just a little more, but then Whiskey Advocate did their rating on it and since then prices have gone up.
Still solid for the price.

Tomatin is a very affordable single malt that is actually pretty good.
Canadian Club has been my go-to for about 5 years now. It does the job
Actually some great whiskey right here

For under $23:
Wild Turkey 101(personal favorite in the price range andthe 80 proof isn't as good), Jim Beam Devil's Cut/Bonded/Black (similar prices), and if you want something really smooth get Johnny Walker Red.

So close...
Used to drink Jim Beam back in Georgia where it was $23 a handle (1.5L). Just moved to Idaho and Jim is $36 a handle now. Fuck that. So I drink pic related instead. Same mash as Buffalo Trace. $22.50 a handle here in Idaho. Not particularly fond of this thread though, seeing as I'm hungover as a mother fucker off of the stuff. But it's legit solid. I drink a big glass full with one ice cube and sip on it like a motherfucker.

Agreed. OGD114 is very good for the price... even double the price.

This is basically the best there is, at any price range.
The only other one that can compete is the 18.

famous grouse it's mighty fine, it's my go-to for monday to wednesday drunk

Bells is literally the shittest tasting scotch I have ever tried.
JW red label is good for a cheap scotch. Splash a bit more for black label if you want something to "treat yourself" with.
Bulleit is fantastic for the price, like someone has already said.

Surprised how well the rebranding of rebel yell went. I don't think they even changed the bill, just new bottle and higher price.
