I had this problem when I hosted some Euro exchange students a couple years ago. I live in the Pacific Northwest, and when they showed up (they were from Austria) they brought ALL their ski equipment with them. I was like "that's a whole weekend trip, guys", and they couldn't fathom it. They thought we were going to be able to go to Las Vegas and Hollywood, too.
