can I drink while on a keto diet?
Yes/no

No beer, mixed drinks, rum, wine, or anything else that explicitly has sugar in it. I've only ever enjoyed whisky and vodka, so it's easy for me to go keto if I wanted to.

oh ok, so ethanol itself is fine to drink? I only drink whisky/vodka/gin/poitÃn anyway so I'm good.

doesn't knock you out of ketosis but alcohol is a macronutrient, so you will be running off alcohol gluconeogenesis rather than ketosis

>doesn't knock you out of ketosis
thanks anon. This is more complicated question you might not be able to help with, but how long should I quit drinking while just starting up? I'd imagine it would make it take longer to get into ketosis if I'm drinking every second day.
You should also note that when on keto your liver is working more than on normal diet (hence the smell when pissing). You will get wasted easier, and you will poison yourself easier. Drinking while on keto is not recommended.

I may be a wreckless idiot but that just encourages me even more - I'll get to get drunk faster without drinking as much
I have to drink 6 shots to get drunk/buzzed now because I'm so used to it ;___;

Stick to vodka.

This guy pretty much has it.
No offense op, but did you research this much first? No tryig to insult. Basically just learn macros in each type of alcohol and treat them the same as anything else you consume. When I cut I pretty much stick to whisky/scotch/bourbon, although vodka would be even easier macro-wise.

rum is a base liquor, doesn't have any carbs in it
but yeah OP you gotta stick to base liquors and 0 calorie mixers (diet coke etc)
