yes. even ezekiel bread isn't really good for you. you don't actually need grain to be healthy, but you can eat whole intact grain (wheat berries, steel cut oats, wild rice) in moderation and be ok.

A lot of it can be. 100% wholegrain sour dough rye is about as good as it can get. Fortunately, that is the bread of my people. Plenty of fiber, highly nutritious, can be dried, keeps for a long, long time even without being dried, keeps you feeling full for ages... Sure, there might be healthier things to put in your mouth, but the pros outweigh the cons.

Bread isn't bad for you, but it's not good for you either. It doesn't give you much in the way of nutrition, it's just carbs and fiber. You eat it because it fills you up and it tastes good, but it uses valuable stomach space that could be housing broccoli or squash or other things that your body needs to not fall apart.

Remember: 25% of the world's children are stunted, not because they don't get enough bread and rice, but because they eat nothing BUT bread and rice

You should expand your sample size to more than a single country. Europe still consumes a high amount of bread and their obesity rights are climbing to rival the USA's. Turkey consumes the most bread per capita in the entire world and they're seeing a higher rate of increase in obesity than any other MENA country
