Have 5 gallons peach melomel brewing right now. Have a couple of bottles of blackberry that I'm just finishing drinking. What do you want to know?

What do i need and what do I do

I brew it like regular mead (13lbs honey for 5 gallons) but add fruit juice as part of the non-honey liquid. I know some folks add the fruit during secondary, but I'm too lazy and I haven't noticed much difference between theirs and mine.

You can add some fruit during the primary, but you add it to the secondary to prevent a lot of the fruit sugars from being fermented. This creates a slightly sweeter mead and prevents flavors from the fruit from being fermented.
I almost always toss all my fruit in the primary though; I like my mead dry and just tasting a bit like whatever I put in it instead of the fruit being the main focus.
