I get consistent perfect bacon every time in the oven.

Stove is okay I guess if you only want like 4 pieces but you'll be standing there for half a century if you try to make the entire pound

I do 350 and 15-17 minutes, 20 tops if it's very thick cut.

It comes out better if you start from a cold oven and don't preheat

Has the grease ever caught your stove on fire? I had some smoking issues after fast baking other greasy stuff during the oven heatup.
