I want to make a really fucking good duck pot pie this fall/winter. It's probably the comfiest food known. Any thoughts on pot pies? or other comfy food for that matter?
Don't put the pot directly INTO the pie and just bake it. Classic beginner's mistake. Look up what to do to it beforehand for the specific temperature and time you'll be baking at. Ideally, you should be able to mix it into the dough for the crust so it doesn't interfere with the flavor too much.

Wolfgang Puck released a video of how to make his pot pie. It looks mighty tasty. I'd say if you were going to choose a recipe, use his.

the best part of pot pie is the bottom crust that has been soaking up the gravy. i make that e x t r a t h i c k.
individual pot pies are better than a single big one, because the ratio of crust to filling is better in the smaller pies.
