At that point, it's better to use them as an ingredient. Pairing them with oats and cooking them in the same sauce pan always yields a god tier result.

53g rolled oats (199 calories)

260g worth of apple, enough to equal 151 calories (e.g. 135g red delicious + 125g gala results in 151 calories of apple)

Cook at medium in 200ml of water for 6 - 8 minutes, let cool for 10 minutes so that they unstick from the sauce pan, serve.

350 calories breakfast or dessert right there

I'm told that it affects the color if you leave the apples and skins on low for a while after they've disintegrated into mush. I don't know if that's true or not, but it always turns out tasty.
