how to make soft pretzels
the way you make bagels, but do a twister instead of a hole
Mix:
>1 cup milk
>1 package yeast
Wait until it's foamy and active then add:
>3 tablespoons sugar
>2 1/4 cups flour
Mix that up and add in:
>2 tablespoons butter
>1 teaspoon salt
Mix, knead and rest for an hour or so until it doubles in size.
Gather 2.5 cups water and 1/4 cups baking soda and bring to a boil, take off heat and dip your pretzels in for like ten seconds and remove and shake off and place onto a baking sheet. Sprinkle your pretzel or large kosher salt over them. Bake at 450F for 10-12 minutes or until it looks like a pretzel should. Remove and brush with melted butter. Eat right away when warm.
