As a matter of fact, it's popular in Israel because it allows practicing Jews to have a cheeseburger substitute (meat and dairy cannot be eaten together, but egg can be eaten with anything)

Hard boiled egg sliced or chopped can be nice, but a runny yolk just ruins it and makes it a disgusting mess. Has to be hard boiled.

it's pretty good but it's not as good as a burger without an egg.

this is almost always the case when someone adds an extra ingredient to a traditional recipe. different, and good, but objectively worse and so ultimately pointless after the novelty wears off.

I used to think it was great, but after eating a few that way, it's just too messy. I love eggs, but on a burger it turns it into a knife and fork meal, and burgers aren't supposed to be that.

It actually works really well. But the yolk needs to be runny. It works best on a relatively simple burger, so if you're using a lot of toppings, don't put an egg on it. But with a few simple, flavorful ingredients, the egg yolk provides a smooth creaminess that works really well with the fat from the burger and a nice soft bun.

If you have a solid yolk, though, I don't see the fucking point.
