I don't care about what's 'best' or not, but when I do have a donut, which isn't often, I usually want the purest, quintessential donut experience without any gimmicks, so plain glazed/ old-fashioned is my go-to.

We've got Krispy Kreme, too, eh?
Their beignes are pretty good.
The baked-in-store doughnuts at Loblaws/Superstore are also dece, and they've always got cream filled éclairs.

Also Dunkin' Donuts I guess but they're not so good.
