Does anyone like blue steak? How do you like your steak?
All this meme posting about well-done steak with ketchup makes me want to try one despite me loving blue/rare steak.
i'll happily have a fillet steak blue rare but the more manly cuts need more cooking
well done steak with ranch dressing is god tier
Steak is meme food. Honestly, it's either tough and flavorless (well done) or slimy and bloody (medium rare). Burgers are way better.

There's no blood in steak

yeah, instead it's a mix of water and myoglobin used to to move oxygen around, which is totally unlike blood, which is a mixture of water and myoglobin used to move oxygen around

If anyone prefers their steak above medium rare I wouldn't trust anything they say cooking related. I usually cook for medium-rare at the most but often end up with blue steak, which I much enjoy as well.

I had a wagyu steak with the center basically room temp recently and it really wasn't enjoyable. Steak should be sliced thin if it's raw at room temp, otherwise you feel like you're just eating raw flesh..which I guess you are. The fat on the sides also doesn't even come close to rendering, so I guess you have to either trim it all off or sear it on the sides or something. Anyway it's nasty to get a chunk of that with every bite of steak.
Ideally I like my steak out of the heat when it hits 118 degrees internal temp, and I don't mind it reaching 122. As long as it's well marbled it will be delicious. Anything over 125 is overcooked.
