Ok coo/ck/s, so i came up with this recipe idea yesterday, and I really liked it. Wife loved it.
Here's the thing, I have no idea if it's already a thing. I mean it probably is, but googling didn't help me find anything.
So tell me, does this sound like a thing someone's thunk before, or did I actually think a good thunk and find a good thing all on my own?
If it's already a thing, what the hell is it called? If its not a thing already, what the hell do I call it, because Steak Roll Ups is stupid.
Pic related, is kinda what the steak looked like, though a little shorter.
Anyways, here. I know the recipe is shittily written but I'm at work, not sitting in my kitchen.
Steak Roll Ups
God help me that name sucks
Stir fry cut steak strips.
-these are about an inch wide, 2 to 3 inches long, and ¼inch or less thick
Minced garlic
Mozzarella, cut in to strips 1 inch long ⅓ inch thick and wide
Sun dried tomatoes, julienne cut
Garlic powder
Salt
Toothpicks in water
Marinate the steak in minced garlic overnight
Lay 1 strip of steak out,
set one strip of mozzarella on end,
add sun dried tomato, about one strip of tomato about the length of the cheese
Roll up, spear with toothpick,
Set on greased baking dish
Repeat
When finished, lightly sprinkle with salt
Bake at 425, 6 minutes.
While baking take more strips of mozzarella and cut these into thirds so that you have cubes. Group the cubes up and sprinkle with garlic and salt
At end of 6 minutes, set a cube of cheese, garlic side up, atop each steak roll.
Broil for a minute or two until the cheese starts to brown on top.

>>8068604
Is that a question?
>>8068606
It once was. Now it's more of a battle cry.
>>8068613
I see.
Anyway did the tomatoes which Julian cut taste nice?
>>8068617
Kinda dry, but theyve been in the fridge for a while
>>8068620
I'll be sure to eat them fresh, thanks for the tip!
>>8068623
Make sure you do
>>8068628

>>8068632
And thank you, have any good steak recently?
>>8068640
No, I haven't eaten steak in a while.
>>8068644
Thats sad, steak is delicious.
I had this great steak last night. Thin sliced, wrapped around a piece of mozarella and a bit of sun dried tomato. Was delicious and garlicky, but I'm unsure of what to call it. Any thoughts?

>>8068675
Hey we were having a conversation here gtfo out of my thread
>>8068679
Now now, brother, let the man attempt to derail us, but do not allow it.
Besides, what the hell is Roulladen anyway
>>8068683
>he doesn't know what rouladen is
make it and weep for wasting those steak strips with some fucking shit cheese casserole.
>>8068702
Looked up a few recipes, that does sound kinda good. But i think the pickle might throw my wife off eating it. Might try it someday, but it also sounds like a much different flavor than my thing
>Unique posters 3
Holy fuck stop bumping your own thread
>>8068712
Holy fuck answer the question so i can let this mistake die
>>8068706
You don't taste much of the pickle but sometimes I like to replace it with minced onions and bacon.
>>8068716
Already got answered dingus you made a steak roulade.
>>8068734
That also sounds amazing. Rouladen is prob going on the menu this month. Whats the gravy situation, is it really needed?
>>8068737
Rouladen is steK,
Maybe a Mozarella Roulade
Think ill be a dick and say Mozarella Rouladi
>>8068738
You cook it in broth and just use that to make gravy, it makes it amazing. Make sure to tenderize first.
Here's a good recipe:

Damn that looks good.
Christ 80% of this thread is "huh" and "wait, what???" type comments!!!!
>>8068863
And yet the goal was achieved
>>8068905
What goal?
Steak pinwheels?
>The first half of this thread
>>8070470
disgusting, rouladen is the only right answer
There's this new meat sushi fad going around, which is pretty much what ur talking about, I would recommend getting a whole flank steak(cheap meat) roll everything up into one big roll, grill that sucker, then cut and broil more cheese on top
>>8070596
Forgot image
Also do this with a chicken breast you pound flat, it's also great!
>>8068545
So basically nigger-tier rouladen?
>>8068675
looks like literal shit.
>>8071595
I like it
Wife loved it so much shes got me making it again. Forgot about the thread till right now. Rolled already, thats the cubes of mozz for the topping in background

>>8073070
Ooh that is weird. I see one little curlecue. Im a hairy motherfucker so ill take the blame for that lol
>>8073047
They were delicious
The steak didnt sit overnight in the minced garlic because it was a whim decision at walmart today, so it wasnt as strong garliced, but still was good
