Hey /ck/,
I wanted to make some lasagna bolognese today.
I was sure I had some bolognese sauce in the freezer, but it turned out to be chili con carne (with lots of chili and some beans) and not bolognese sauce.
Question: I would not pretend to have made lasagna bolognese then, but can I simply use the chili instead of bolognese? Would that turn out in an acceptable dish?

made me laugh, thank you!
i have done this very thing before and my family enjoyed it. get some jalapenos and spring onions and herbs in there to cut the richness.
it'll work just fine, except it will taste like chili, and I really don't like the texture of beans mixed with pasta(except in soup)
God i havent had lasagna in ages. Im gonna have some today
>Cook a big lasagna on Sunday
>Take it to work for lunch the rest of the week
>It's good even when cold and don't have access to a microwave

Yeah, lasagna is amazing like that. I love cold lasagna as a late weekend breakfast

Except for replacing bolognese sause with chili, what else is important for southwestern style lasagna?

Parsley -> cilantro
Cumin somewhere in there

Use corn tortillas instead of pasta, queso fresco instead of ricotta, queso Oaxaca instead of mozzarella
Add jalapeƱos and a little pico de gallo, maybe some corn

>southwestern style
Corn and black beans are obligatory for anything called "southwestern style"
